
Kuwait’s Chief of the General Staff of the Army Lieutenant General Khaled Al-Shuraiaan met on Sunday with Commander of the Unified Military Command of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Major General Abdulaziz Al-Balawi and Commander of the Peninsula Shield Force Major General Mohammed Al-Ruwaiss to discuss key issues aimed at enhancing joint Gulf military cooperation.
In a press statement, the General Staff said Lt General Al-Shuraiaan received the visiting Commanders, where they exchanged cordial greetings and reviewed matters of mutual interest that contribute to strengthening joint Gulf military action and advancing integration across various sectors of the GCC Armed Forces.
The meeting also focused on reinforcing coordination mechanisms and improving collective readiness among member states’ militaries, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army Major General (Pilot) Sabah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, along with several senior officers from both sides.
In another development, Deputy Chief of Kuwait’s National Guard Sheikh Faisal Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah conducted an inspection visit to a National Guard site that had been targeted by hostile drones, in order to review the measures taken in response to the incident.
According to a press statement issued by the National Guard on Sunday, Sheikh Faisal Al-Nawaf stressed the importance of strengthening readiness and maintaining the highest levels of vigilance across all installations.
He praised the efficiency and swift response of National Guard personnel in handling the incident, noting that their efforts play a vital role in protecting strategic facilities and safeguarding Kuwait’s security.
The Deputy Chief of the National Guard also directed the prompt rehabilitation of the affected site and its full restoration to operational readiness in accordance with the highest standards, ensuring the continuity of its functions.
